How it works

A relationship, not a subscription.

Sahaayta is designed like a good aunt in a new city — present, respectful, and reachable. Here is exactly what happens after you enroll.

01

Enrollment & intake call

A 20-minute call with your daughter (and you, if she wants). We learn her college, neighborhood, comfort language, allergies, emergency contacts, and — most importantly — what she'd like from her guardian and what she wouldn't.

02

Matching her guardian

From our verified local network we shortlist 2–3 guardians who live within a short reach of her campus. She picks. If the fit isn't right in the first month, she can switch — no questions.

03

The first meeting

Usually chai or coffee, near campus. No agenda except getting to know each other. Her guardian shares her direct number, and Sahaayta's 24/7 emergency line is installed on her phone.

04

Weekly check-ins, her format

Every week, on a day she chooses, her guardian reaches out — call, WhatsApp, or a short in-person visit. She decides. She also decides what stays between them and what shows up in your parent update.

05

The parent update

Sunday evenings you receive a short human-written note: she's safe, she's settled, and — only if she consents — a small window into her week. If something worries her guardian, you'll hear from us first, personally.

06

On-call, whenever — for real life

Hospital run at 2 AM. Fever. A landlord dispute. Needing to scout or switch to a safer PG. Panicking before a viva. Her guardian is the friend she calls; a coordinator backs them up. One number, answered by a human.

07

The one exception to her privacy

If her guardian sees signs of substance use — alcohol misuse or drugs — we will tell her family, directly and first. That is the only line she cannot draw. Everything else stays her choice, always.

Ready when you are.

Most families enroll in under 10 minutes. Matching happens within 72 hours.
